Islamabad: After successful negotiations regarding government formation, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have announced the President and Prime Minister for the formation of the government.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Zardari stated that after consultations with party leadership, a lengthy discussion was held with the PML-N, following which it was decided that Asif Zardari would be the President and Shehbaz Sharif would be made the Prime Minister.
According to media reports, Shehbaz Sharif of the PML-N, while addressing a press conference with PPP Chairman Bilawal, said that our numbers are complete. Asif Zardari will be the President, and I will be the elected Prime Minister.
Shehbaz Sharif remarked that it would have been better if the independent candidates of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had formed the government. Our numbers are complete, and after that, we have jointly announced the President and Prime Minister.
According to sources, it has been decided in the negotiations between the PML-N and PPP regarding government formation that the Speaker of the National Assembly, Balochistan, and the Governor of Sindh will be from the PML-N, while the Senate Chairman will be from the PPP.
