Jamaat-e-Islami and Others Challenge Results of PS and NA Seats in Sindh High Court

Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami has challenged the results of four provincial assembly constituencies in the Sindh High Court.

The electoral landscape in Karachi is shrouded in controversy as the outcomes of more than 30 National and Provincial Assembly constituencies are being challenged in the Sindh High Court (SHC) with a multitude of candidates seeking legal redress against suspected irregularities, rigging, and discrepancies that marred the recently concluded elections.

Jamaat-e-Islami has challenged the results of four provincial assembly constituencies in the Sindh High Court. According to details, Jamaat-e-Islami’s Junaid Mukati has challenged the election results of PS-104, where MQM Pakistan’s Muhammad Daniyal emerged victorious.

Jamaat-e-Islami has challenged the success of MQM’s Abdul Basit in PS-124. Muhammad Akbar of Jamaat-e-Islami has challenged the victory of MQM’s Abdul Waseem in PS-123.

Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nasrullah has challenged the election results of PS-126, where MQM Pakistan’s Muhammad Iftikhar Alam secured the victory.

Among the other hotly contested constituencies include NA-234 Korangi, where MQM’s Aamir Moin’s victory is under dispute, similarly the victory of MQM’s Arshad Vohra from NA-240 and PPP’s Mirza Ikhtiar Baig from NA-241 is being challenged. Additionally, the wins of MQM’s Khawaja Izhaar from NA-247 and Moeed Anwar from PS-101 are also facing legal challenges.

Nabil Gabol’s win in NA-239 is being contested and PTI candidate Shujaat Ali Advocate has filed a petition challenging PPP’s Qadir Patel’s victory from NA-243, prompting immediate court hearings for all related petitions. Independent candidates Agha and Abbas Hasnain have voiced concerns over manipulated results in PS-101 and NA-247, respectively, citing inconsistencies in Form 47.

The legal battles span both National and Provincial Assembly seats, with JI and PTI-backed independent candidates challenging outcomes in several constituencies.
