Islamabad: Significant progress has been made in the investigation of the anti-judiciary campaign on social media.
According to details, sensitive institutions have identified hundreds of social media accounts involved in the purported anti-judiciary campaign. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) will block the identified accounts during the investigation, according to sources. The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) cybercrime wing is on high alert, monitoring numerous social media accounts, with a commitment to prevent any compromise on national security.
In response, it has been decided that those involved in the anti-judiciary campaign will be included in the Exit Control List (ECL) and the Stop List, including overseas account holders.
PTA officials stated that so far over 500 accounts have been identified, and the monitoring of others is ongoing. Emphasizing that public confidence in institutions should not be jeopardized, PTA officials reiterated that social media would not be allowed to be weaponized against the state. Instructions for immediate action against individuals involved have been issued to all police stations and reporting centers.
