Islamabad: The caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar has stated that regardless of which party, including the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), wins the elections, the caretaker government will transfer power to the victorious party. He emphasized that there is no option for them other than to respect the people’s mandate.
Caretaker Prime Minister Kakar mentioned that those involved in the events of May 9 should be punished. In his opinion, rather than punishing the entire party, only the responsible individuals should face consequences. He clarified that there is no intention to treat the entire PTI as an enemy, but accountability should be applied to the individuals responsible for the May 9 incident.
Regarding the ongoing legal process involving Imran Khan, Kakar stated that he has no information to suggest that Imran Khan was the mastermind behind the events. He emphasized that if the investigation leads to the conclusion that Imran Khan was indeed the mastermind, then he should be punished according to the law.
Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar expressed that the caretaker government is taking steps for the betterment of the country, and the public will be allowed to choose their representatives in the upcoming elections. He asserted that they have no issues with anyone, and mentioned that he had voted for PTI in both the 2013 and 2018 elections.
However, he stated that he won’t vote for PTI in the future due to changes in his opinions. He clarified that at least he won’t vote for them, due to disappointment with the three and a half years of tenure of PTI government. He expressed his disappointment in the PTI government stating that PTI had no team and no preparation to address the governance challenges.
