Manzoor Pashteen Handed Over to Police on 7-Day Physical Remand

Islamabad: Manzoor Pashteen has been remanded to police custody for 7 days.

According to details, a hearing took place at the Anti-Terrorism Court in Islamabad regarding the case filed against Manzoor Pashteen at the Tarnol police station. Mazsoor Pashteen appeared before Special Court Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain.

During the hearing, the police requested Manzoor Pashteen’s physical remand, to which Manzoor Pashteen’s lawyer presented the stance that the firing occurred on Manzoor Pashteen’s car in Balochistan, and holding rallies was his client’s right.

The lawyer further stated that Manzoor Pashteen was abducted from Balochistan and presented three days later today. The physical remand of my client is not justified, he argued.

Later, Special Court Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain approved the police’s request, handing Manzoor Pashteen over to police custody for a 7-day physical remand.

It should be noted that Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) chief Manzoor Pashteen was arrested in the Chaman area of Balochistan on December 4 when allegedly during routine checks, security personnel from the police, Levies, and the Frontier Corps (FC) were fired upon by armed men accompanying Manzoor Pashteen, who refused to stop the vehicle, as stated by the deputy commissioner after Pashteen’s arrest.
