Islamabad: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced a facility for overseas Pakistanis to bring mobile phones from abroad.
According to a report by private TV, starting from the next arrivals in Pakistan, overseas Pakistanis, and foreign nationals coming to Pakistan can enjoy tax-free registration of their personal mobile phones for a duration of up to 3 months (120 days). In the recent announcement, PTA extended this period for Overseas Pakistanis and foreign nationals, allowing them to register their mobile devices for a period of 120 days from their date of arrival in the country.
To benefit from these services, applicants are advised to submit their applications using their own credentials such as Passport, CNIC, or NICOP. PTA has also shared the procedure for utilizing the Temporary Registration Facilitation system through the DIRBS system.
