London: Shahzad Akbar, the PTI leader and former Special Assistant for Accountability to Prime Minister Imran Khan in the previous PTI government, was attacked with acid by unknown individuals in England.
Shahzad Akbar, in a statement released on social media, wrote “Last evening I was attacked at my address in England (where I am living in exile with my family) by unknown assailant/s who threw acidic liquid at me. Thankfully my wife and children are safe, however I got some injuries but nothing life-threatening”.

He mentioned that the police and emergency services arrived promptly, and his house is being protected now. Shahzad Akbar further wrote he “will not be intimidated nor bow down to those who are doing this”.
It is worth noting that Shahzad Akbar following the no-confidence motion leading to the removal of PTI Chairman Imran Khan in April 2022, Akbar left the country. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government placed him on the Federal Investigation Agency’s “stop list.” However, the Islamabad High Court later lifted this restriction.
