Pakistan Wheelchair Cricket Team Becomes Asian Champions for the Second Time

Kathmandu: The Pakistan Wheelchair Cricket Team has become Asian champions for the second time. Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by 102 runs in the final of the Wheelchair Asia Cup.

According to details, the final match of the T20 Wheelchair Asia Cup played in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, saw defending champions Pakistan winning the toss and choosing to bat first. Pakistan openers Muhammad Adnan and Umair Gul put up a score of 140 runs at the beginning of the match. Pakistan suffered their first loss when Muhammad Adnan got out for 66 runs. A partnership of 140 runs was established between Muhammad Adnan and Umair Gul. Muhammad Adnan scored 66 runs, and after scoring 4 runs, Muhammad Latif was caught out. Pakistan faced their second loss at 150 runs.

After that Sajid Ali Abbasi scored 8 runs and was run out. Pakistan’s fourth wicket fell at 196 runs when Umair Gul was bowled out for 95 runs off 53 deliveries. During this time, Masal Khan scored 14 runs before being run out. Pakistan reached 215 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Faizan scored 11 and Ahmed Yar remained not out with 8 runs.

Due to Pakistan’s extraordinary bowling, the Sri Lankan team collapsed at 113 runs in 17.2 overs, and Pakistan achieved victory by a margin of 102 runs, becoming champions for the second time. Sarth scored 25, Somath Karunaratne scored 20, and Sudeen scored 16 runs, while Asif Nadim took three wickets. Masal Khan and Ahmed Yar took one wicket each. Opener Umair Gul was awarded the Player of the Match for his outstanding performance.
