Lahore: The caretaker provincial Health Minister Professor Dr. Javed Akram participated as a special guest in an awareness seminar organized under the auspices of King Edward Medical University on the topics of dengue and pink eye.

Provincial Health Minister Professor Dr. Javed Akram stated that dengue is affecting 72% of the youth population in Pakistan, similar to 139 countries worldwide, including Singapore, Switzerland, and India. He emphasized that the recent surge in dengue cases is unrelated to platelet transfusions.

He further explained that the Health Department is striving to control the pink eye virus. Precautionary measures should be taken in educational institutions in Punjab to protect children from the pink eye virus.
