Islamabad: From next week, there is a possibility of another increase of up to 15 rupees per liter in the prices of petroleum products. Within a week, the price of crude oil has risen by $5 per barrel from $88 to $93 in the global market.
Following this price surge, the cost of crude oil in Pakistani currency went from Rs 25,344 per barrel to Rs 28,086 per barrel. This marked an increase of Rs 2,742
According to a private TV channel, the rising prices of crude oil in the global market are giving rise to concerns of a new wave of inflation in Pakistan. If the dollar’s value does not decrease further, petroleum product prices may increase further from September 16th.
It should be noted that continuous increases in the prices of petroleum products in Pakistan can lead to further inflation.
