Prominent Pir Asad Shah Jeelani Arrested for Allegedly Torturing 10-Year-Old Maid to Death

KARACHI: A shocking incident has emerged in which Pir Asad Shah Jeelani, a member of the influential Pirs of Ranipur, has been apprehended by Khairpur Police on allegations of torturing his 10-year-old maid, Fatima, to her tragic demise. The incident, which has sparked nationwide condemnation, came to light after distressing video clips of Fatima’s body, bearing evident torture marks, circulated widely on social media.

The video depicts the young girl, severely injured, struggling to sit up on her bed before collapsing, igniting outrage across the country.

Originally attributing the child’s death to illness, Shabana, the victim’s mother, now asserts that her minor daughter was subjected to severe and prolonged torture at the hands of the Pirs of Ranipur, leading to her tragic demise.

After the registration of an FIR, Pir Asad was taken into custody. The Ranipur Police filed the FIR under Sections 302 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code, based on the complaint filed by the deceased child’s mother.

While the suspect denies any involvement in the child’s death and claims that she passed away during treatment for stomach pain at his residence, he demands a fair inquiry and views the case as a conspiracy aimed at tarnishing his family’s reputation.

Local residents and many throughout the country have united in condemning the Pirs of Ranipur for the alleged crime that tragically claimed the life of a 10-year-old child.
