Lahore: There is once again a possibility of an increase in petroleum product prices in Pakistan.
Due to the rise in petroleum product prices in the global market, there is a potential for price hikes in Pakistan as well, with the possibility of an increase of Rs.15 in the price of petrol and a Rs. 20 increase in the price of diesel from August 15.
Global market fluctuations in petroleum product prices and a $2 per barrel difference in crude oil premiums have led to an increase in the per barrel price of crude oil from $86 to $91.
Conversely, in the international market, the prices of diesel and petrol have also risen from $97 to $102 per barrel, with a $5 per barrel increase. If these prices remain stable, there is a possibility of petrol becoming Rs. 15 per liter and diesel becoming Rs. 20 per liter more expensive in Pakistan according to current rates.
