Karachi: Hafiz Naeem ur Rahman, the Amir (leader) of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, visited the under-construction Gujjar Nala (drain) project in Kausar Niazi Colony, UC-8, North Nazimabad area, where a tragic incident of a 6 years old child named Ajmal drowning in the drain and losing his life had occurred. Hafiz Naeem expressed deep sorrow and condolences to the grieving family members and prayed for patience for the bereaved.
Hafiz Naeem ur Rahman also visited the spot near the child’s house where this unfortunate incident took place.
The child’s father pleaded that such pits should be immediately closed to avoid any other parents having to face such a catastrophic event again.
Hafiz Naeem Rahman termed the accidental death of the young child a great tragedy and assured the family that Jamaat-e-Islami stands with them in their grief. He demanded that the government and relevant authorities take measures to prevent such incidents and also called for action against the FWO and other responsible entities.
Hafiz Naeem ur Rahman reassured the child’s father that Jamaat-e-Islami stands with them and will raise their voice against the culprits responsible for this tragic incident.
The child’s father and the local residents briefed Hafiz Naeem ur Rahman about the details of the incident and informed him that immediately after the child fell into the drain, FWO officials were asked to rescue him. However, they initially ignored the incident until they finally took action after persistent requests, when they dug up to 12 feet, they managed to pull out the child, but tragically, the child had already lost his life.
It is worth noting that due to the government’s neglect and carelessness, there have been eight deaths in the last two years alone in the vicinity of Kausar Niazi Colony.
