Lahore: An investigative committee has been formed to probe the drugs scandal at Islamia University Bahawalpur. The Chief Minister of Punjab has constituted a 3-member inquiry committee, including the Secretary of Mines Babar Aman Babar, DIG Amin Bukhari, and DIG Raja Faisal.
The committee will conduct investigations into every aspect of the incident at Islamia University Bahawalpur. It will identify the individuals involved in the incident and present its report to the Chief Minister.
It should be noted that the revelation of the involvement of employees of Islamia University Bahawalpur in drug trafficking has come to light. A decision has also been made by the Vice-Chancellor to have all employees and officers undergo a blood test.
Three days ago, the police arrested another official of Islamia University Bahawalpur on charges of buying and selling drugs.
Earlier, the treasurer was found involved, followed by the security officer, and now, the transport in-charge of Islamia University has been found in possession of the drug ice.
In response to all the incidents, the legal team of the university has also taken action, demanding a notice from the Inspector General of Punjab along with the establishment of a joint investigative team for the judicial inquiry from the Lahore High Court.
