New York: The effects of climate change are continuously emerging, and scientists have declared last month as the hottest June in human history.
Last month witnessed severe heatwaves in southern parts of America, Mexico, China, and other locations, while the sea surface temperature rose to alarming levels.
Experts from the European Union have observed that June 2023 has shattered the previous record of being the hottest June set in 2019 (June 2019), by a significant margin.
According to European agencies, out of the top 10 hottest Junes in human history, 9 have occurred within the last 10 years, indicating that climate change caused by human activities has significantly raised the Earth’s temperature.
The report also highlighted that the sea surface temperature remained the highest in June, primarily due to increasing temperatures in the North Atlantic Ocean and a strong El Niño presence in the Pacific Ocean.
