LONDON, UK: A ticket holder has won the £170 million EuroMillions jackpot to become the country’s biggest ever lottery winner.
The UK ticket holder matched all five main numbers – 07, 10, 15, 44, 49 – and the two “lucky stars” – 03, 12 – in the Tuesday’s draw.
National Lottery Senior Winners’ Adviser Andy Carter said, “One incredibly lucky ticket-holder has scooped tonight’s enormous £170 million EuroMillions jackpot. They are now the UK’s biggest ever winner.”
“Players all across the country are urged to check their tickets as soon as possible,” he added.
In June, an anonymous ticket-holder had won a £123 million jackpot.
He said it had “been a fantastic year” for UK EuroMillions players, with five jackpot wins.
EuroMillions ticket sales help contribute over £30 million for causes each week ranging from local community projects to supporting the country’s athletes, Carter said.
The lottery is played across 9 countries including France, Spain and Ireland.
The odds of winning the EuroMillions jackpot are 1 in 116,531,800.
