Mumbai police arrest man for stalking Ekta Kapoor

MUMBAI:  Mumbai police has arrested a 32-year old man for stalking television and film producer Ekta Kapoor.

According to a report in Hindustan Times, the accused employed with a cab aggregator was stalking Ekta Kapoor for the past many months.

Police said found more than 30 different instances of Sudhir Rajender Singh following Kapoor, including to a Juhu temple and her gym. They said Singh wanted to befriend her and get a job at her firm.

The police arrested Singh after Kapoor’s company filed a complaint. “We received a complaint saying Kapoor had repeatedly tried to ignore the man, but he kept following her across the city,” said a police officer. “The most recent instance took place a few days ago, when Kapoor had gone to a temple in Juhu.

Singh followed her and tried to approach her, but was stopped by Kapoor’s security guards,” the police officer said. The police said the guards warned him and asked him to stay away. However, Singh enrolled at the Andheri (West) gym that Kapoor goes to, and waited for her there.

The Amboli police have registered a first information report (FIR), and started looking for Singh. “We used technical surveillance to track him down to Veera Desai Road. During interrogation, we found out the number of times he had followed her,” the officer said.
