ISLAMABAD: Federal minister for Water and Power, Khawaja Asif took social media to announce that country’s overall power generation in the country exceeded 17,000 MW.
Khawaja Asif wrote on his Twitter handle that for the first in the history of Pakistan, the electricity generation crossed 17, 000 MW and he credited his ministry for this feat.
He said that overall power generation was recorded at 17, 040 MW against the demand of 17, 934 MW.
“Power Position at 7PM on 08-06-2016 Total Generation = 17040MW Total Demand including K-Electric = 17934MW Shortfall = 894MW,” he tweeted.

Just before that, he has been widely criticised for his non-parliamentary remarks for Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insf MNA Sheerin Mazari.
Mr Asif called him ‘Truck Trolley’ during NA session, which drew flak for his offensive comment.
