Major terror attacks in Europe: a timeline

LONDON: Terrorist have struck different cities of Europe including London, Paris, Brussels and Madrid and Denmark. A timeline of the events is as below:

Brussels March 22, 2016

35 people dead and many wounded in two terror attack in Brussels at Zaventem airport and metro station. The Brussels prosecutor has said that the attacks were considered to be the suicide attacks. Meanwhile the Islamic state claims the responsibility of the attack and warns would likely follow more.

France November 13, 2013
Islamic state jihadists attacked Café and concert hall during football match between Germany and France leaving 130 dead and more than 350 people wounded. Among 10 suspect of Paris attack a key suspect Saleh Abdul Salam has been captured from Belgium, on Tuesday before the terrorism incident took place at Zeventem Airport and Metro Station in Brussels.

Denmark February 15, 2015
A 22 years old Palestinian citizen Umer al Husain got killed when he opened fire at a conference titled “ Islam and freedom of expression”. Later on, Hussain killed guard in front of Jews synagogue wounding two policemen. He was killed in crossfire at the synagogue.

France January 7th, 9th, 2015
The Charlie Hebdo magazine began publishing in 1970 with the goal of satirizing religion, politics, and other controversial topics. From January 7 to January 9, a total of 17 people were killed in attacks on the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, a kosher grocery store, and the Paris suburb of Mont Rouge. Three suspects in the attacks were killed by police in separate standoffs. The so called Islamic State claimed responsibility of the attack

Belgium May 24, 2014
A gun man opened fire at the centered museum killing four people. An Algerian suspect Mehdi Nimosh was captured from France and later on shifted to Belgium for investigation.

France March 11 – 19, 2012
A 23 years old Muhammad Merah in a killing spree opened fire on Army taking 3 army personnel down along with a  school teacher and three Jew children in Toula, South France. Merah was killed on 22nd march after 32 hours of operation.

London July 7, 2005
The key suspect of the 7 July had fixed a suicide bomb on railway track and inside the bus killing 52 people and wounding another 700. The attack was claimed by Al – Qaeda.

Spain March 11, 2004
The terror attack on Madrid 4 railway station claimed 191 lives while more than 2000 were wounded. Attacks came in response of American War in Iraq however 7 of the key suspect blown themselves on April 3rd, 2004 killing one Police man. Spanish officials claimed that it was launched on the directions of Al- Qaeda.
