KOLKATA: Thanks to Hafeez, Shehzad and Afridi’s firepower, Pakistan have set a huge total of 2001 in the second match of Super-10s round of ICC WT20 2016 against Bangladesh at Eden Garden, Kolkata.
Pakistan after winning the toss chose to bat first on a flat track, Pakistan top order bated really well and posted 201/5 in the first innings.
Pakistan were 26 for 1 when Hafeez joined Shehzad on the crease, the duo added 96-run partnership for the second wicket which is also a record partnership for Pakistan in T20s.
Ahmed Shehzad, while trying to clear the fence ended up in the hands of the field on mid wicket. He scored 52 off just 29 balls, leaving Pakistan 121/2.
Hafeez was next to complete his half-ton on 36 balls.
Afridi along with Hafeez (63), took the power-hitting to another level and before leaving the crease (on second last ball of the match), he had scored 49 runs just 19 balls.
Bangladesh, when come to bat, will require 202 runs to win this match.
