Religious coalition issues deadline to withdraw Women Protection Bill

LAHORE: Coalition of Religious political parties during a meeting at Jamat-e-Islami head quarters in Mansoora issued a deadline to the Punjab Government for withdrawal of the controversial Women Protection Bill.

During the special conference called to discuss the Women Protection Bill the coalition has decided to call a conference with clerics on April 2nd. Future framework for a protest campaign would be decided in the April 2nd meeting.

It was decided in the meeting that the Women Protection Bill is sugar coated by the Government to push Western agenda. It would have adverse effect on Pakistani society instead of protecting the women.

Attendees of the conference expressed that, West has failed to hold families together or solve family life issues in West. How can we trust a bill promoted and passed on the behest of Non Government Organizations pushing Western Agenda in the country.

Attendees of the conference were all informed that Prime Minister Nawaz Shareef was unaware of the contents of the bill and its approval. Upon receiving complaints PM also expressed his anger to the Chief Minister of Punjab on the approval of this bill.

Political experts are predicting that government may face hard time due to the Women Protection Bill. Coalition of religious and various political parties believes that the bill is not going to protect the average women however it may lead to further complications in family lives. It would further the gap in married lives instead of bridging gaps between couples.
