MIRPUR: Indian cricket team will take on Bangladesh team on Wednesday in opening match of Asia Cup 2016, at at Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Bangladesh, TheNewsTribe.com reported.
Ten matches will be played between five Asian team; Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates; in the main round.
Indian cricket team faced a blow as skipper MS Dhoni is ruled out from tournament due to muscle spasm in the back during a training session.
According to statement issued by he Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Virat Kohli will lead the team in Asia Cup 2016.
“India ODI and T20I captain MS Dhoni has suffered a muscle spasm in the back during a training session in Dhaka,” a statement frome the BCCI read.
“The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Parthiv Patel as the back-up wicketkeeper for the upcoming Asia Cup, 2016. He will join the team in Dhaka at the earliest.”
The match will start at 19:00 (Local Time) and 18:30 (Pakistan Standard Time).
Earlier United Arab Emirates qualified for the main round by remaining number one among Afghanistan, Nepal and Hong Kong in the first round.
All the matched will be played at Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Bangladesh.
