LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) saved leg-spinner Yasir Shah from long term ban as International Cricket Council (ICC) imposed three-month ban on Yasir Shah, TheNewsTribe.com reported.
According to sources, PCB filed strong case in ICC and saved Yasir Shah from long term ban. Cricket pundits admired the efforts of Chairman PCB, Shahryar Khan for helping star spinner.
Former Test cricketers Skiandar Bakht claimed that Salman Butt, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif could be saved from ban if Shahryar Khan was the chairman in that time.
Following the announcement, Yasir Shah, who was banned from playing cricket on December 27, 2015 will be able to play cricket from March 28, 2016.
The spinner told an ICC panel that he had taken his wife’s medicine mistakenly which led to his positive dope test on November 15 last year.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had also requested ICC to Yasir Shah’s case with leniency. Pakistan’s bowler Yasir Shah was charged with an anti-doping rule violation under the ICC Anti-Doping Code.
