Australia vs India: Kangaroos win 5-match ODI series

MELBOURNE: Australian cricket team thrashed India in third One Day International (ODI) of five match series at played at Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Kangaroos won the ODI series by 3-0 as they chased the target of 295 runs courtesy Maxwell’s brilliant inning. Marsh scored 61 runs and Smith contributed 41 runs in team total.

Australian team chased the target in 49th over with the lost of seven wickets.

Maxwell inning change the game as 96 his runs took away the game from Indians. Sharma and Jadeja took two wickets each.

It was must win game (3rd ODI) for India to stay alive in the series but Aussies are took away the series from visitors.

Indian team scored 295 runs in limited 50-over game. Virat Kohli scored 117 runs and remain top scorer for his team.

Kohli completed 7,000 runs in ODIs and claimed a record. He reached the milestone in 161 innings (169th match), the fastest (in terms of innings taken) in the world.

Kohli started the 3rd ODI needing 19 runs to reach the landmark. Having arrived at the crease at his usual number 3 spot at the early fall of Rohit Sharma (6), Kohli went past the 7,000-run mark in the 10th over of the innings. He reached there with a boundary off left-arm paceman James Faulkner.
