DUBAI: International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday gave invitation to Ireland to replace Australia in Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2016.
Ireland cricket team got a chance to play U-19 cricket world cup as Australian Cricket Board refused to play mega event starting from January 27, 2016 in Bangladesh.
ICC confirmed that Ireland will replace Australia as ICC officially invited the Ireland team.

The reason behind the withdrawal from ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup is security problems of host country.
Australian Cricket Board boss James Sutherland in his statement said that players security is their first priority so they have decided to withdraw from mega event which is to be played in Bangladesh.
“We have always maintained that the safety and security of Australian teams and officials is our number-one priority,” Sutherland said in a statement.
“For some time we have been working closely with ICC security advisors and monitoring the security situation in Bangladesh and have been keeping our players, officials and the players’ parents as up to date as possible.
“Regrettably, the advice from our Government suggests that the security threat to Australians travelling to Bangladesh remains as high now as it was when we postponed the Test team’s tour of that country late last year.
