According to the unofficial and unconfirmed results, Jehangir Tareen won the election with 1 lac 17 thousand and 53 votes while PML-N’s candidate Sadiq Baloch could get only 73 thousand 247 votes. The polling day at Lodhran proved to be peaceful after the great efforts of law-enforcing agencies to provide security.
There were three thousand policemen appointed on the polling stations for the whole day while soldiers of Pakistan army were also appointed along with more than 1100 volunteers. A control room had also been set up in DPO office to deal with any emergency.
A total of 4 lac, 19 thousand and 182 voters were listed as eligible voters and 303 polling stations were made for the purpose, out of which, 47 were declared sensitive. Voters were not allowed to bring cameras or mobile phones inside the polling stations.
