LONDON: Sony’s Playstation Experience event was recently held at Dec 7 and the Japanese gaming giant unveiled a lot of cool things for gamers.
There were game trailers, news about the upcoming Playstation VR and more. Here are some other highlights from the showpiece Sony event.
Playstation Messaging App for Android and iOS
In order to reach out to gamers and smartphone users alike, Sony has introduced a Messaging app for mobile platforms. To start off, Sony has launched a companion PlayStation app, which is available for download on both Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android platform.
What the application does is that it lets you talk to anyone on your PSN friends list so you can stay in touch with your friends on the PS3 and PS4. You can get details about what your friends are playing and when they want to team up for an online game. PlayStation Messages has also taken some similar features from Facebook Messenger. Users will be able to jump between your PS apps through tabs, along with sending a slew of voice messages, text and stickers to their friends, all the way up to 100 players or groups.
Playstation Now – Sony’s Game Streaming Service Becomes More Affordable
Coming to how Sony is going to cater to its PlayStation 4 clientele, there’s good news for users of Playstation Now. Playstation Now is the company’s service that allows you stream a selection of PS3 games to your PS4, Vita, and other devices, and was earlier seen as a little too expensive for users to enjoy thoroughly. As of right now, Sony is offering subscription plans of $19.99 for one month or $44.99 for a total of three months.
There is also a 12-month plan that is going to cost you just $99.99 for a whole year. However, you should keep in mind that the offer is only for a limited time period, and the company has not specified when it is going to expire. Regardless, those who want to avail a much cheaper way of streaming games can take advantage of the most cost-effective option out there.
