Toxic food leaves 6 family member unconscious

RAWALPINDI: At least 6 people of one family has fell unconscious after eating toxic food for their breakfast in Morgah, site in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.

According to details, all the victims have been shifted to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Rawalpindi, where they have been given medical aid and no one is critical.

Hospital administration has  confirmed that they fell unconscious due to consuming toxic food, and 4 out of 6 victims are children

Also last month around 35 under-training police officers fell unconscious after consuming toxic food for their dinner at the Razzaqabad Police Commando Training Centre.

The centre was located on the National Highway in the Shah Latif Town police limits. The cops were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) and Steel Town Hospital for treatment. The director of JPMC, Seemi Jamali, said that the policemen were in a stable condition. She also said that reports suggesting that a Police Constable Anas had died were false.

SHO Shah Latif Town Ali Hasan Shaikh told that the food had been cooked at the training and centre and the men lost consciousness soon after eating their dinner. It was reported that Anda Channa had been cooked, which triggered off the food poisoning.

Meanwhile, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Mohammad Iqbal confirmed that none of the policemen were killed, while the cooks were taken into custody and the food seized. Also, the Inspector General of Sindh formed a medical board to investigate the matter.
