India vs South Africa 1st Test Day 1: India fight back with 3rd wicket before lunch

MOHALI: After continuous attacks from India’s spin cordon,  South Africa has lost three wickets in the first session of the day with total of 127/5 on the board, providing some breathing space to Indian skipper.

Elgar was the first wicket to fall on the day as he concentration and reluctantly threw his wicket playing  loose shot against the off spinning delivery of Ashwin, that edged to Jadeja on backward point.

Earlier, Proteas resumed their inning from 46/2 with Hashim Amla and Elgar on the crease. Both the batsman played cautiously in first phase of the morning and then s the dew faded away, the were not reluctant to play their shots before Elgar made a mistake.

South Africa had got India bundled out on just 201 runs on first day, thanked to D Elgar’s four for 22 runs.

Murali Vijay was the top scorer from India who scored 71 runs and was the only Indian batsman who looked assured and firm on the crease.

South Africa at lunch were 127/5 with  AB de Villiers (26) and Vernan Philander (2) on the crease.

Hashim Amla returned to hut on 43. Ahswin Has so far bagged 44 of the 5 wickets that fell so far.
