ISLAMABAD: Member of Sri Lankan High Commission office in Pakistan Wijayanthi Edirisinghe has stated that Sri Lankan cricket team is eager to make Pakistan visit soon, TheNewsTribe.com reported.
Wijayanthi was speaking to a local TV channel in Islamabad.
During his interview he said Lankan team is so eager to tour Pakistan that they have filed a request to government for clearance.
He was of the opinion that it is impossible for Afghanistan to maintain peace in the country without taking Pakistan on board.
Answering to a question he said, Pakistan and Sri Lanka have signed several agreements including health, education, economic coalitions and cultural fields.
He was critical on South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation (SAARC) by saying that 30 years’ performance of SAARC is not sufficient, it needs improvement for economic and peace stability in the region.
