India demands Pakistan’s apology over Champions Trophy winning celebration

ISLAMABAD: Indian Hockey Federation has demanded an apology from Pakistan in order to resume hockey series, TheNewsTribe.com reported.

According to details, IHF has demanded Pakistan’s apology controversial winning celebration back in 2014 when Pakistani players won a most crucial match against India and a Wild celebration from the visiting team as jerseys go flying in the air.

On the other hand, captain Pakistan Hockey team Mohammad Imran has denounced Indina demand terming it as ‘unnecessary.’

“Teams from all over the world celebrate in this way, it wasn’t an offense.” said Imran.

Earlier, The International Hockey Federation (IHF) had banned two Pakistani players for one match for indecent gestures as they celebrated their victory over India in semi-final of Hockey Champions Trophy. However, the federation did not take any action on the Pakistani team overall.

The banned players were Amjad Ali and Muhammad Tauseeq. The IHF refuted Indian objection and refuse to take any action in the matter after watching the match’s video. The Pakistani head coach had apologized to the losing side on behalf of Pakistani squad and vowed to maintain decorum.
