KARACHI: Geo News Satellite Engineer Arshad Ali Jafri lost his life as he succumbed to his wounds in hospital late on Tuesday following an attack on a Geo News Digital Satellite News Gathering (DSNG) van in Bahadurabad area of Karachi.
Unknown gunmen on Tuesday targeted a Geo News DSNG van critically injuring a Satellite Engineer and the driver.
According to initial reports, the Satellite Engineer and driver sustained four and two bullet wounds respectively in the attack, which according to our correspondent seemed to be a targeted assault.
The injured driver managed to drive the vehicle to Agha Khan Hospital where the engineer was said to be in critical condition.
The attackers, who were riding a motorcycle, fled the scene shortly after attacking the Geo News van.
