Karachi traders call for strike tomorrow against withholding tax

KARACHI: Karachi Traders Association has announced to observe a strike Wednesday in protest against the withholding tax.

Traders in Karachi termed the imposition of 0.3 percent withholding tax on all bank transactions unjustified and called for a shutter-down on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, Jamaat e Islami and Muttahida Qaumi Movement have also announced to support the strike.

They were of the view that the levy was undue and that it will burden the trade fraternity.
