PESHAWAR: Peshawar traffic enforcement police launched a crackdown on VIPs, penalizing hundreds of motorists for violation of driving rules, TheNewsTribe.com reported.
According to our correspondent, the new-look traffic police officers have imposed fines on as many as 1, 200 VIPs over the last two weeks for using mobile phones, wrong overtake and use of tinted glasses in their vehicles.
Some lawmakers, judges, bureaucrats and military officers are among the violators.
Sources say that a dedicated team has been assigned to keep an eye on VIPs.
An officer of the traffic police reveled that no resistance was found from anywhere in the city.
