KARACHI: Barrister Farogh Naseem on behalf of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Dr Farooq Sattar on Saturday submitted two separate petitions in the Sindh High Court, challenge delimitation of constituencies in Karachi and Mirpur Khas for local government elections.
In his petition, Farooq Sattar stated the government has included some areas of Malir district in Korangi district and several areas of Korangi district in Malir district during the delimitation process.
It stated that the delimitation is the responsibility of the Election Commission of Pakistan, adding that provincial officials have completed the process which is against the law.
He told court that the provincial government has already planned to rig the local government elections as they have ignored the population and rejected our objections as well.
Sattar urged the court declared delimitation of constituencies null and void. He said that they will challenge other districts included like this.
