PPP again shows support for Imran Khan’s decision

ISLAMABAD – Opposition leader in National Assembly, Syed Khursheed Shah support Imran Khan’s demand for resignation of election commission officials after Judicial Commission’s inquiry report pointed out the official’s shortcomings during the general elections of 2013.

While talking to media persons, senior leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) backed the demand of Imran Khan and said that all four member of Election Commission of Pakistan should reign from their posts.

Khursheed Shah said that “We know they are getting salaries of Rs800,000 per month. But I think your prestige is more important than money.”

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has demanded resignation from Election Commission claiming that ECP has lost moral authority to conduct next Local Bodies Elections.

“My reservations about the last elections remain unchanged. It was a fixed match by PML-N, Election Commission of Pakistan and Returning Officers,” Khan said while holding a press conference in Islamabad on Saturday.

“There is no room left for this Election Commission to continue. What is sad that if these incompetent people do not resign they will be the same people conducting upcoming local body polls?”

“I accept the decision of the Inquiry Commission in the light of commitments I had made earlier,” he said.
