A Bangladeshi newspaper, Prothom Alo published a fake ‘cutter’ advertisement in which seven Indian cricketers are seen standing with their heads half-shaven.
The advertisement shows, young Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman, who destroyed the Indian strong batting line-up in the ODI series, with a cutter in his hand which symbolises his ‘offcutters’ and the Indian players are holding a banner which reads, ‘We have used it. You can use it too.
Bangladesh recently humiliated India in the three-match one-day international series, beating the visitors 2-1 at home. The win was Bangladesh’s first ever series victory against India.
The Bangladeshi ad seems to be a befitted reply to an advertisement campaign of the broadcaster Star Sports, in which they referred to Bangladesh as ‘Bachchas’, which means kids in Hindi. The ad even starts with an adult gully cricketer referring to a kid as ‘Oye Bangladesh!’
