No power outages during Ramadan; Khawaja Asif

ISLAMABAD –  Minister for Water and Power, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, said that there will be no load shedding in Ramadan during Sahar, Aftar and Taraveeh on Thursday.

While talking to the media, Khawaja Asif cautioned consumer to conserve energy in order to enjoy endless supply of electricity in Ramadan.

“Power generation crossed 16000 MW for the first time in the history of Pakistan,” he added.

Federal minister also informed that power supply will be provided to industrial zone from 7pm to 3am during the month of Ramadan.

“Government wants to avoid the implementation of new tariff,” he added. He also said that we will overcome the load shedding soon.

Few days ago citizens of Faisalabad protested against the worst un-scheduled load shedding.

Not only in Faisalabad, people across the country are suffering from the problem of load shedding for the last one decade.

Government of Pakistan failed to fulfill the promise of providing electricity during Sahar and Aftar in last Ramadan.

Before general election 2013, during political campaign, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) promised to overcome the problem of power shortage in one year but they failed to achieved this goal.
