Pakistan vs Sri Lanka: Heavy rain spoils first day of test match

GALLE – The first day game of Galle test between Pakistan and Sri Lanka was spoiled  due to the heavy rain.

Umpires officially called off the game of first day after inspection. Out filed and pitch remain covered whole day.

According to details next four days play will begin 15 minutes early, with the middle session extended by another 15 minutes.

Earlier, Pakistan Cricket Team Captain, Misbha-ul-Haq, on Tuesday expressed his hopes of beating Sri Lanka on their home ground through utilizing all the skills and powers.

Misbha-ul-Haq, while talking to the newsman, said Pakistan team was well prepared to play the test series.

The first session of practice included batting and bowling areas whereas fielding was emphasized in the second part of practice sessions.

Pakistan Cricket Coach, Waqar Younis, also delivered a lecture to the fast bowlers regarding the condition of matches on Sri Lankan grounds, said sources.

Misbha-ul-Haq said that the practice session proved very valuable, which familiarized the team with the conditions of the wicket on Sri Lankan grounds, adding that he was confident to defeat Sri Lanka in test series.
