Lukewarm response to strike call of tri-party alliance against KP gvot

PESHAWAR: The strike call given by the three-party alliance of opposition parties – ANP, JUI-F and PPP, against the alleged rigging in recently-held local governments election in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by the PTI failed to close down the province. .

According to reports, partial strike was observed in the province on the call of the opposition parties, who are demanding the KP government to resign and re-election under a neutral and caretaker set-up.

 

There are reports that workers of all ANP, JUI-F and PPPP closed down shops and markets forcibly in different areas of the province.
In some areas, political workers clashed with shopkeepers for their refusal to close down their businesses and shops.

The traders have given calls for protest against the highhandedness of the opposition parties’ workers.
