LAHORE: Pakistan cricket team head coach Waqar Younis has directed for the preparation of batting friendly wickets for upcoming Pakistan Zimbabwe series, sources said.
Keeping in view the recent form of Pakistan batsmen, the head coach decided to take no risk as it can endanger his own stake.
“Pakistani batting line has struggled in recent past due to inclusion of many fresh faces. In this scenario, the coach and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have ordered for batting pitches to help young team.” said a board official.
Zimbabwe bowling line threatened Pakistani batsmen in world cup match and have also won a One-Day International game in last series between both, played in Zimbabwe in 2013.
It is interesting to keep in view that in recent series, Pakistan team was humiliated by Bangladesh in all three one-days and only T20 match in home away series, where its batting line was badly exposed but made a strong comeback in Test series under the leadership of Misbah ul Haq.
