DUBAI – After splendid performance of Pakistan cricket team in the second test match against Bangladesh, the team’s test ranking has topped up to number three.

According to the renewed rankings of ICC, Pakistan cricket team occupies 3rd position in test cricket. Whereas, improvement in the positions at individual level have also been seen.

Azhar Ali gets position 16 in test cricket batting. He was previously at 20. Younus Khan also goes up from 9th position to 7th.

Among others, Leg spinner Yasir Shah moves to position 20 from 26 in test cricket bowling and the wicket keeper Sarfaraz Ahmad has improved his batting position from 26th to 22nd.

In the first innings Azhar reached his first double ton after hitting a six, making Pakistan the first Asian cricket team to have hit 1000 sixes in test matches. Even India, following Pakistan, has had 995 sixes in their test match history. However, the Aussies lead the way with a record of 1463 sixes in test match cricket.
