ATC sentenced MQM worker to life imprisonment

KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) sentenced Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) worker to life imprisonment for possessing explosive materials.

According to reports, In 2014, police arrested Syed Maroof after the explosive materials were seized from him during a raid conducted in Mehmoodabad.

Earlier, MQM activist Saulat Mirza was also scheduled to be executed on March 19 in Mach, Balochistan for murdering Shahid Hamid, the managing director of the then Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC), his driver Ashraf Brohi and guard Khan Akbar in July 1997.
