Altaf Hussian threats: Interior Minister meets with British High Commissioner

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Interior Minister  Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan on Wednesday called on British High Commissioner to Pakistan and reportedly provided him roofs of  MQM chief Altaf Hussain’s  threats to Rangers personnel, who raided the party headquarters in Karachi and recovered a number of convicted criminals, accused wanted by police in cases of serious nature and large cache of arms . 

Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan held a meeting with British High Commissioner to Pakistan Philip Barton and conveyed him government of Pakistan’s concerns regarding Altaf Hussain’s alleged threats to Pakistan security personnel and his repeated attempt to incitement to violence in Pakistan through his telephonic speeches.

Interior Minister reportedly showed him proofs against the MQM leader, who is in self-imposed exile in UK for over two decades and has been granted citizenship there . The High Commissioner was urged to restrain the British national for threatening Rangers officers.

It is to be mentioned here that Rangers Col Tahir had registered FIR against the MQM chief  on Tuesday in civil lines police station Karachi.

The application had been filed against the MQM chief for threatening the Rangers spokesperson and other personnel following a pre-dawn raid on the MQM headquarters, Nine-Zero last week.

On Pakistani government side, The reports about re-opening of cases against Altaf Hussain by Scot Land yard were received however MQM leader Farogh Naseem rejected the news and said the news were baseless.

Meanwhile Altaf Hussain said that MQM will continue its peaceful struggles for democracy in Pakistan.
