Irfan’s World Cup hops still alive, could get fit for semifinals

ADELAIDE: As Pakistan star fast bowler Mohammad Irfan hasn’t participated in the practice session, but team management is still hopeful that bowler would be available for the semifinal.

According to details, even if Irfan report came negative he would be not be sent back to the country as he could recover from injury before the semifinal.

Irfan’s MRI report will come today (Tuesday).

However, if he remained unfit till the match against Australia, Pakistan have to select the team among 14 players because if team management would call for Irfan’s replacement he will reach the country on March 19 which will be no use.

It is pertinent to mention here that Irfan had sustained hip injury during the match against South Africa while he had not bowled complete 10 over against United Arab Emirates (UAE) as well.
