Sohaib Maqsood the ‘weak link’ in Pakistan team: Shoaib Akhtar

KARACHI: Pakistan former speed star Shoaib Akhtar has said that Sohaib Maqsood is the ‘weak link’ in Pakistani playing eleven.

Talking to private Geo News TV channel, the Rawalpindi Express said that Sohaib Maqsood need to learn how to stay at wicket and survive.

He said that there is a flaw in Sohaib’s technique and he needed to focus on his batting.

“No doubt Sohaib hits the ball very hard, but he needed to learn how to stay at the wicket and face and survive difficult bowlers,” said Akhtar, who has the official world record of fastest delivery, of 161.3 km/h (100.2 mph) delivered against England in 2003 World Cup.

Aktar said that it will be appropriate f Pakistan consider replacing Maqsood in its upcoming world cup matches.

Pakistan will play its last group match against Ireland on Sunday at Adelaide Oval, which will determine team standings in Group B.
