ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) led ruling coalition has presented the name of National Party Chairman Hasil Bizenjo for the slot of Chairman Senate while Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has indicated to field Rubina Khalid from KP for Deputy Chairman post.
As political maneuvering started soon after Senate elections, with PML-N and PPP vying for the coveted posts of Chairman and Deputy Chairman Senate, on Saturday PML-N senior leader Ishaq Dar held meeting with different parties leader, indicating that PML-N might not push for electing its own man as Senate chairman.
Sources said that the ruling party has decided to field some one from Baluchistan and there is broad consensus on the name of NP chief Hasil Bizenjo, whose party is a partner of PML-N in Balochistan and Centre.
Ishaq Dar met Hasil Bizenjo and  conveyed him the ruling party’s decision to field him for Senate chairmanship.
After the PML-N move, it seems that both Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Senate will be elected with consensus among opposition and treasury.
