ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Shairf on Tuesday called on Indian Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar in PM house Islamabad following his arrival in Pakistan for a two-day official visit, local media reported.
They have discussed Pakistan India relations and overall situation of the region.
The PM Nawaz was assisted by his adviser on National Security and foreign affairs Sartaj Aziz, Foreign Secretary Aizaz Chaudhry, PM’s Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi.
The Indian High Commissioner in Pakistan Dr T C A Raghawan and others were also present on the occasion.
Earlier, Indian External Affairs Secretary Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry held discussions on bilateral relations and matters pertaining to SAARC.
The two sides also discussed contentious issues including Jammu and Kashmir, Siachen, Sir Creek and other bilateral issues.
They discussed ways to resume the dialogue process between the two countries to move forward for resolution of outstanding issues.
The Indian external affairs secretary also held meetings with Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and Special Assistant to Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi.
