Plan was already afoot to drop me from squad : Hafeez

LAHORE: Pakistan star all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has said that Pakistan team management told him to caught next available flight to go home.

Mohammad Hafeez while talking to media said that he was told by the team management that he would be going back to the country in the next available flight and they have called his replacement for mega event.

Hafeez said that he didn’t argue at that moment and accepted the decision made by the management and now he was in Pakistan. He said he was disappointed that he was not part of the World Cup anymore.

The all-rounder said that he would recover from calf injury and would be available for the second match of the tournament against West Indies scheduled for February 21.

He said that he accepted the decision only because the management should be thinking in the interest of the country.

Hafeez said that he was hopeful that he would be cleared by ICC of illegal bowling action and would be play in the mega event as as all-rounder, but he was sent home.

He further said that he has been the top scorer for Pakistan cricket team since his comeback in 2010.

It is pertinent to mention here that he had suffered a calf injury during the 2nd One Day Match played against New Zealand.
