SYDNEY: Pakistan have defeated Bangladesh by three wickets in its first World Cup warm-up match played at Blacktown Olympic Park Oval on Monday.
Pakistan chased down the respectable total of 247 with 11 balls remaining. Sohaib Maqsood leading the run chase with 93 runs.
This is the first victory by Pakistan team in after four One Day matches.
Pakistan’s top order collapsed once again as both openers left the crease just 8 runs on the score board. At that time Sohaib Maqsood batted with great responsibility and helped the team to cross the victory line.
Umar Akmal and Haris Sohail contributed 39 runs each for the green shirts.
Mashrafe Mortaza picked up two wickets for Bangladesh.
Earlier Bangladesh batting first posted a respectable total of 246 thanks to Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudullah who have pled brilliantly for the side.
Pakistan have the great start as they sent two Bangladeshi batsmen back to the pavilion with just 16 runs on the board. At that time Iqbal scored remarkable 81 while Mohamudullah followed up with 83 when Bangladesh desperately needed a partnership.
Bengal Tigers scored 246 before getting bowled out with a bowl remaining in 50 overs quota.
Mohammad Irfan showed his intensions very clear by picking up five wickets while Yasir Shah picked up 2 wickets for the Green-Shirts.
